Health Equity for me: Peter Wiessner
The eighth in our 15-part Health Equity Video Series

Around the world, communities fight every day for fair and equal health services. In this 15-part video series, GFAN advocates, and community leaders share what health equity means to them and why fully funding the Global Fund is critical to achieving it.
Our colleague Peter Wiessner from Action against AIDS Germany describes:
“Health equity means to me that everyone, regardless of where they live, their sexual orientation, or their income, has the same access to high-quality HIV treatment that I have living in a privileged country like Germany.”
He adds that the Global Fund plays a crucial role in making this vision a reality by empowering communities on the front lines of the HIV response — supporting them to deliver lifesaving services, advocate for their rights, and ensure that no one is left behind.
