Health System Strengthening
An important discussion is currently going on between the WHO, the World Bank, GAVI and the Global Fund to jointly strengthen health care. In principle many civil society organizations welcome the focus on strengthening health systems and would be pleased if such a Joint Platform For Health Systems Strengthening could achieve strenghtened health system while maintaining a a clear view of long-term health outcomes for all groups of the population.
Further down in the documents section is the statement, which was compiled and signed by 18 German and international organizations and networks, including the Action against Aids, Germany.The five key points of the statement are:
- Respective roles of the different partners
- Structure of the new platform and relationship with other donor agencies
- Resources and funding streams
- Universal access to health care and vulnerable groups
- Role and meaningful engagement of civil society
