Life before pharmaceutical profits!
Patents can be deadly.
Millions of people living with AIDS need a chance to live. But patent applications by the pharmaceutical industry make new and more effective medicines unaffordable for people in developing countries. We thus called for a withdrawal of patent applications so that low-cost generic medicines can be produced in countries like India.
The campaign is closed. With with your support, we collected over 28.000 signatures! On World Aids Day 2009, we released thousands of balloons in capsule form in Berlin and the signatures collected during our signature campaign were handed over to the 3 pharmaceutical companies - Abbott, Bristol-Meyer-Squibb and Gilead.
